Moneybrother live in Berlin
Hey folks!
last time around I told you about Les Savy Fav, the postpunk boombox from hell that rocked out at the Festsaal Kreuzberg. This time there's a soulier approach to rock music that I must tell you all about, just in case you haven't heard.
Moneybrother is Sweden's finest export next to Volvo and Absolut Vodka. He tastes like vodka and looks like a Volvo. No wait, he smells of vodka and rides like a Volvo.
Anyway, Moneybrother and band played in Berlin's Postbahnhof in October for an audience of about 1000. Great show - and you know what? You can see it in full on my website: http://www.sly-fi.com/index.html?episode=503
If you wanna see some real good music journalism check out the interview as well:

I mean the whole website is like a music nut's dream. It's got interviews and live shows and videos and a whole lotta shaking going on. So if you're reading NME, Intro, Spex or Metal Hammer, this might be a site worth looking at. I mean, I work there but still I haven't seen anything that even gets close in styles and skills and general good attitude.
Let's get back to Moneybrother. He played in a great swedish rock'n'garage'n'soul band called MONSTER which some journalists and me thought would be really succesfull with their sound which at the time no-one else was playing. Well they didn't make it. In case you ever saw them live back in 1997, you'll know what a great band Monster was. But Anders aka Moneybrother told me how young and reckless and shitty-looking they were. They didn't sell any albums (I bought Rocker's Delight and it's really good) and they broke up.
So nowadays it's Moneybrother (same voice, less punk, more soul) and he's selling albums alright. And he deserves it. Great love songs, heartwarming performance and a saxophone.
